I have delt with bowed tendons and I think it would help to wedge the foot. I also think it would be wise to protect the feet that you have been maintaining all this time so that when he comes off his rest he will be ready to go. 8 months go by fast and it will probably take longer than that to get those feet back into good shape so the horse will be ready to excercise. Just my experienced humble opinion, been there done that. I hate haveing to tell Vets and owners I told you so at the horses expense.
