: I was just wondering if anybody else was using any of the Equi Flex shoes. If so what you thought about them.
: Thanks Bryan
I use the Equiflex shoes in numerous theraputic applications. They have a frog pressure bridge now which gives a farrier options in different situations. You can nail and or glue the shoes. I have used them on previously resected feet, laminitis, joint jewelry, contracted heels, quarter and toe cracks. Some applications have been used in coffin bone fractures.
These shoes are light weight, which is a necessity and recommended in lameness situations. Some applications for laminitis require wedging and weigh 20 ounces plus per foot, the equiflex can be made into wedge by applying Fast Set to the heels. The glue can be built up to specs and can be reduced by rasping for proper foot fall. This application weighs less than 11 ounces per foot.
Using these shoes in lameness application sure beats the hell out of forging or building shoes the old fashion way.
