: : : I shoe or trim horses living in 10,000 acre paddocks down to horses living in stables.I notice by my records wld on the increase,i also notice the habitually shod horses are more prone to infection and reinfection. Just trying to get a handle on this disease as the more i read and see the more frustrating it gets because i cannot find a common denominator.Pythagoras taught us that the only real truth is in mathematics, wish he could come back and sort this equation out for me. Any suggestions, comments, ideas or ridicules welcomed f

: I hope I have something worthwhile to say about this. I have put up a rudimentary web site and white line disease is discussed. http://JamesRooney0.tripod.com/lamehorse/
If a horse or a human being is
worked hard and put up wet, so
to speak. The body breaks down.
While the muscles and organs
are recovering, the immune system
is vulnerable to attack. A horse
struggling through a bout of
laminitis i believe is vulnerable
to many oportunistic infectious
diseases. A human being feels a
sniffle and a scratchy throat
coming on then heads for the gym,
lifts weights and climbs the stair
stepper, before morning the human
is attacked with full blown cold
and flu symptoms. The same effects
can be excelerated with excessive
alcohol and drug consumption. Gavin
