I didn't go (really wanted to though) but I can assure you from experiences teaching at many hands on clinics that there are a lot of farriers who struggle with the basics like effecient rasping even after several years at the trade. Can't rasp around the frog, can't rasp level and flat. gut the quarters,tip the heels down, you name it. And they can't knife either. With the lack of apprenticiship positions in this country (which is where european farriers are forced to develop those skills)the schools here need to spend a lot more time on those basics .Patty
