AAEP and AFA upcoming

I just got back from the AAEP meeting and it ws SO worth it . Plenty of lameness topics this year and loads of new research just off the presses, including MRI and how it being used to more accurately diagnose the true origins of caudal foot pain ,and so called "navicular syndrome "(most of which IS from trauma to the the impar ligament and DDFT as it turns out..they can clearly see where the damage is now).
Then I get home and get the AFA convention information in the mail and have to decide whether to attend, especially with all the other hoofcare events coming up.(Bluegrass lLaminitis symposium, International Hoofcare Summit, and the best one ,where you don't have to travel, the Online Conference right here)
. OK The AFA does have speakers lined up, and more vets it seems than last year. BUT the problem is they did not give even a tiny hint of what topics those speakers are going to cover.
How the heck is anyone who wants real applicable science rather than just the forging contests going to decide if they should attend when they havn't a clue as to what information is going to be offered? I am sure not going to waste my time to find out that I have to listen to the same old rehashed information.
Compare the information (or total lack of) information about what the seminars are going to present in the AFA convention brochure to that of the Online hoofcare conference right here, where you know ahead of time what person is speaking on what topic, at what time.
Or the brochure for the new International Hoofcare Summit coming up in Feburary in Cincinnati.
Or the brochure for the Laminitis Symposium (always has the speakers and topics a listed)
Since most farriers including me have to budget for only so many clinics, I am going to invest on those where I know ahead of time what topics are offered and if I want to hear about those .
The AFA has blown it again in my mind.
I might have considered attending but it would be a difficult decision to do so now.
