: : : For those of us without the small dish who missed seeing Ralph this week I offer this synopsis.
: : : This week A/P balance or as ralph calls it "Keeping both legs on the booger the same legnth"
: : : Usefull tips.
: : : 1.) Find the sole plane and then leave a thick rim of sole extending above it. Keeping this rim the same legnth on each foot insures both legs will be the same legnth.
: : : 2.) Many horses will not have enough heel to then match the pastern angle keeping the toe this way. The solution is a product call Level-It. Ralph and his young blonde student from vermont showed us how to run beads of glue over the heel buttress and then place the foot in the kitty litter box full of the level It. It took 3 or 4 "dips" into the kitty box with glue applied between each dip to achieve proper A/P balance on the demo horse.
: : : Your man with the dish.
: : : Fred
: :
: : has anyone tried that stuff? on the Drafts I work on I would think they would push that stuff right out of there .
: : Frank
: No, but I have had several people try to push it on me. I don't plan on using it either. I can level it with my eye and rasp.
: Phil
And thank you Fred... what would we do with out the "Man with the DISH"
