The "banana shoe" is actually a fully rockered shoe. This design allows you to set the breakover behind the tip of P3 or even as far back as the coffin joint itself. The advantages to this are full unloading of the dorsal wall, increased blood supply to the sole, and allowance for the horse to select an angle comfortable for him.
