Ok was reading a old farrier journal the other day and was reading the "shoeing for a living" artical and one of the things the farrier said was "most of the companys that make shoes today have figured out the shapes of a horses foot so all you need to do is size them there is no need to over work the shoe" wow, whats the companys # I need to order some shoes! By the way I have a forge and anvil to sell if anyones interested! Ok real question, if you have a horse that is not lame and has a good foot I do not see a reason to change it with punching the inside course and outside fine so we can support the stright inside quarter because Doug Butler says everything needs to be perfect and symmetrical, Or if the horse breaks over on the outside of the foot, why try and get him to break over on the inside? This is just changing what the hose is used to and if we change it to much he will end up off. Now its a different story with a lame horse or a real poor hoof, but why change it is its not broke!
