: : : Have heard mention of an injection that will treat founder. A shoer (home schooled) in this area has "treated" founder on a couple of different horses with a shot. He is no longer in the area and I am picking up his customers and they are asking about it. Any ideas what he could have been giving these horses?

: : Nope, never heard of it. But I would consider him a danger if he is treating founder/lamintis with injections and not working at the direction of an equine vet.

: : Home schooled. That about answers it.

: : Just my thinking.

: I have to agree with Ray. If he is going around giveing shots, and is not a licensed vet, he has opened himself up for all kinds of law suits. Be wise and do not practice this. You are not a vet and CAN NOT give out meds!!!!!!!! Do not even cross that line!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the input. That is about what I figured but wanted to be sure. I am currently treating a foundered mare with the direction of a vet. Very concerned for this mare's well being. Just wanted to be sure we weren't missing something.

Thanks again for the responses.
Mike
