Repair of a Wall Separation

Foreword: The trainer stated the horse come up lame the morning after his last race. Several days later he blew an abscess out at the coronary band and then became sound in a couple days. He proceeded to race him again and the same lameness situation occurred.Upon reviewing the injuries, the hoof had two Wall Separations. The hoof horn had torn away from the sensitive laminae, and this tearing away of the sensitive laminae from the hoof horn produced an infectious fluid which migrated up the hoof wall and vented at the coronary band. The end result is a severe area of weakness, and an inability of the hoof to absorb concussion when placed under stress.
Wall separation 1 The Horn is separated from the Sensitive Laminae producing infectious fluid, which relieves or abscesses at the Coronary Band. Site - "A" is the point of the first abscess and "B" is the site of the second. I have the sections of the foot outlined where I believe the injured area's exist.
Wall separation 2 This view shows the inside of the foot after precise removal of the Hoof Wall and Hoof Horn.

"A" shows how the hoof sheds the injured Sensitive Laminae, then allows for a natural healing process once the abscess is relieved.

"B" shows where the second injury is relieved at the Coronary Band, and how again the Hoof sheds the damaged Sensitive Laminae to start the healing process.
Hoof wall separation 3 This foot was soaked in a solution consisting of 1 cup of Epsom salts and ½ cup of Bleach, in 1 gallon of warm water for ½ hour per day for 3 days.
Hoof wall separation 4 I applied my "The Millennium Patch Application Technique" 5 days later, and the horse successfully raced 2 days after having it applied. The horse never missed a week of racing after the trainer requested my services.
Hoof wall separation 5 The hoof 20 weeks after "The Millennium Patch Application Technique" was applied.

A- Clean Coronary band growth.

B- Nice new hoof heel.

C- The Millennium Patch still tightly in place.
