In some cases horses respond differantly to frog pressure when true navicular has been diagnoised, at least IMO..I have some that do like your horse and the frogs slowly disappear and others grow like no tomorrow? Thing I feel is that even when raising the heels with a pad or a wedged shoe, one must trim down the frogs so to keep the HPA as close to what it should be..I have seen alot done with the heels of the feet untrimmed and wedged up, that most likely causes the stabbing when walking.. and of course where the toe breaks over is also important I feel. so to quote Bro Rick here, "It Depends"

Jay, it really depends on the type show I guess? I did pick up a 15 horse account from being there at that show. At some barrelraces I can make $400 sometimes tacking on thrown shoes or shoeing horses that need it. Canchasers run almost everyweek somewhere..gaited shows will just sometimes have a loose shoe or the DQP has them change shoes if they want to show...

What do ya charge to nail a shoe back on?

Cheapest price $20..goes up depending on additude and materials..

Damn go and spend a whole day building shoes for sideboned mules, fixin cuttin and barrel horses and come home to see that everything is just as confusing as ever? I hope this site can get back to where it was before Obama's big change came about? Steve you do have big boots to fill, following Barons Act and we all appreciate all you do! Eric, your site was what we want I think and Thanks for the look back at Successful Info Trading!! Now I hope this site adjusts itself or we are all lost??

I will admit I am a simpleton, shoeing horses is a full days work and when I want to be on this site I personally only wanted one thing..to click on "Last Read Thread" and I was a happy camper! I am really grateful you added the Popcorn icon, but apparently due to other Farriers contributions being so down, it is almost unnessesary anymore? I would hope that the login PROBLEM get fixed and things settle down? I miss all the old crew, Red , Mr Adams, Hell everyone seems to have jumped ship?? Personally Obama has made Change a very bad word and it seems to have affected this site too? I will hang in as I was Barons worst nightmare at times...

  • Was he flat or lite shod? You are not real clear at least to me on that? IF liteshod your Farrier might have been trimming off more heel because of the turndowns on the liteshod shoes..needless to say now barefoot, I would just stick to a regular trimming cycle and let his frogs grow and the heels hopefully will widen some with frog contact? Good Luck, nothing really drastic needs to be done IMO..
