The Jordanian Farriers Association
Mission Statement
The Jordanian Farriers Association exists to:
- Serve farmers, villagers and Bedouins in camps to
look after and care for the health and well-being of their animals
hooves, especially equine animals.
- Train new farriers.
- Make available to farriers the proper tools and
supplies needed to perform their trade correctly.
- To protect and develop the profession of farriery in
Jordan.
- To organize and promote the farriery job market in
Jordan, thereby ensuring that qualified farriers remain in Jordan.
- To educate farriers and horse people about the
latest farriery information and techniques. This will raise the level of
farriery in Jordan, and promote the understanding and acceptance of new
and improved farriery techniques.
- To assist in solving farrier's problems.
The Jordanian Farriers Association is trying to achieve
the following goals:
- Enlist members to be active in the JFA's activities.
There are plenty of things to be done, both by full-time members and
part-time supporters.
- Prepare a brochure in Arabic and English which
includes complete information about the JFA.
- Work cooperatively with other national farrier
associations, such as the WFA, AFA, The Guild, and others, to build
itself into an organization which can support and perform all of its
activities properly.
- To receive a free subscription to the ANVIL
Magazine.
- To receive a free subscription to the American
Farriers Journal.
- To hold the first seminar in Jordan concerning
equine hoof diseases and shoeing problems, in cooperation with the
R.J.E.F.
- To hold the first horseshoeing competition in
Jordan.
- To establish a permanent headquarters which will
facilitate running the JFA.
- To hold farriery training courses every 6 months to
improve the level of farriery in old members, and raise the level in
newer members.
- To place Jordanian farriers as apprentices in
countries abroad, so they may learn advanced farrier techniques and then
return to Jordan and teach those techniques to local farriers.
