!!! NOTE CHANGE OF LOCATION TO DOVER, DELAWARE !!! May 19 & 20, 2007 Clinic and Guild RJF Exam - Dover, DE - Mid Atlantic Region On Saturday, May 19 from 9:00am to 5:00pm Blackburn Forge, Inc. will be hosting an advanced shoeing clinic with Jaye Perry, RJF of the Atlanta Farrier Group, LLC. This clinic will focus on "navicular syndrome" and analysis of sub clinical lameness issues in performance horses.
"Uncle Jaye" is 'Da Man' for critical lameness referrals from veterinary clinics in the Atlanta area. For this clinic, Mr. Perry will be presented with a horse that has had multiple long-term lameness issues. We will have radiographs and medical records for this horse and a complete history of the farrier care, chiropractic treatment, and the training the horse has received over the past 3 years. This clinic will focus on advanced analysis techniques and advanced shoeing methods. As such, we assume that farriers who sign up for this clinic have knowledge and experience with anatomy, biomechanics, forging modifications, and fabrication techniques.Immediately following this clinic the Guild RJF™ written exams will be administered and the shoe displays will be graded. This allows RJF Exam candidates who cannot attend the clinic to arrive at the end of the day and take the written and fabrication portions of the exam just before dinner is served and the live entertainment begins. On Sunday, May 20 Guild examiners Rick Burten, CJF, RMF and Matt Taimuty, CJF, RJF will administer the Live Shoeing Phase of the Registered Journeyman Farrier™ Examination.
