Injured Farriers Fund

The PPFA has decided to create an Injured Farrier Fund to keep separate from other PPFA funds and business. The sole purpose of this fund is to help our members if they are seriously injured or hospitalized. The rules of participation are as follows:

1) You must be a member of the Pennsylvania Professional Farriers Association with dues paid and current in order to join or be paid by fund.

2) You must be out of work a minimum of 30 days and under a physicians care and have a physicians written report.

3) Your fee of $50.00 for this program must be current and on record. Your canceled check will be your record, no receipts will be mailed, and no second notices will be sent.

4) Members will contact any BOD member and send doctors statement to collect this fund at which time a vote of at least 2 BOD members will be taken and the decision of the BOD will be final.

5) Sign up period of this program will be 30 days, June 15 thru July 15 yearly.

6) When the fund is paid out, a post card will be sent to all participants to resubmit the $50.00 fee to the fund.

7) The fund cannot be paid out twice for the same injury or illness.

8) In order for the fund to be paid to participant, regular annual association dues must be paid prior to injury or no later than January 30 of the current year.

How the fund works: Any PPFA member can join the fund during the sign-up period, June 15 - July 15 by paying $50.00 into the fund. If the participant suffers an injury or illness requiring them to be out of work for a period of not less than 30 days, then they submit to any BOD member a doctors statement confirming this. The BOD will then be polled, and all money in the fund will be paid to the participant. A post card will be mailed to all participants allowing them to rejoin the program at that time. While we hope the fund will never need to be used, we hope it will help a participant through a crisis should one arise.

Send all payments for this fund to Alvin Beiler, 243 Springville Road, Kinzers, PA 17535 and make checks payable to PPFA Injury Fund. Fill out and return lower portion of this form with payment.

This fund is not insurance, nor an insurance policy, nor is it a promise to pay any person money as an indemnification for loss or injury.
