President, Steve Muir notified me at the end of
last month that he and Michael McNutt helped Mitch Taylor at the
pre-certification clinic held on April 8-9. Many thanks to Dave Purves who
provided the horses and the facilities. A total of eight people attended the
clinic.
Steve wanted to know if anyone would be interested
in holding a swap meet this summer? I know everyone has purchased tools in the
past because they were interesting, or wanted to try them out. Only to find
that they did not perform as expected, so they have gathered dust on your work
bench. Or even worse it lays in the shoeing truck where you have to move it out
of your way a minimum of 10 times a day when you probably use the thing once a
year. MAFA has held swap meets in the past where you can bring handmade items,
or tools that you want to sell or trade. It has been quite a few years so I
know everyone has accumulated plenty of junk. If you are a packrat like me, and
are interested in organizing a swap meet please contact Steve Muir.
Steve also said he didn't have as many people as
he hoped for show up to the hammer-in at his house Sunday April 13. But wanted
to thank those who were able to make it.
Toby Burdette coordinated the AFA certification
held in Beverly Ohio May 9-10. Richard Becker was the Examiner, and all levels
were given. I do not have the results yet, but will post them in next months
newsletter.
