January, 2007
The annual January meeting and clinic was held on the
13th at the Fredricktown Veterinary Center with 30 members in attendance.
At the meeting elections were held for the positions of vice president,
secretary, and one board of director. For the office of vice president
Dennis Hill was elected, secretary Michael Boal was elected, and board
of director Todd Adams was elected. AFA Executive Director Mike Nolan
attended the meeting to present the members with reasons for the proposed
reduction in the number of the AFA board of the directors. Our thanks
to Mike for coming and presenting this to us.
Following the meeting Michael McNutt CJF, AFA of New
Concord Ohio gave a very interesting and informative clinic. Michael teaches
a Farrier Science class at Otterbein College. His presentation was about
what he covers in his class. In closing he gave a slide show of some interesting
horseshoeing pictures to discuss. We would all like to thank Michael for
a great clinic and providing it free of charge.
The 50/50 winner this year was Mike Augenstein. Mike
generously donated the $90 payout back to MEFA. A big thanks also goes
to Phyllis McNutt and Kris Muir for providing an excellent FREE lunch.
