ASSOCIATIONS
Associations serve many purposes, and everyone has
their own reasons for joining one or several of them. Some farriers and
blacksmiths join simply for the camaraderie of getting together and socializing
with others of the profession. A good many join because they like to compete in
the shoeing and forging contests. But most farriers and blacksmiths join for
what are probably the best reasons of all, to further their knowledge and
enhance their skills.
If you don't belong to an an association, we
encourage you to consider doing so. Associations can be separated into three
basic categories: State or Local, National, and International. Many people
belong to both their State or Local as well as a National association, and an
increasing number are joining International associations.
Although technically not "associations", Farrier
Competition Teams are also included in this section. Don't forget to check them
out.
To review the associations (or teams) hosted in
The Farrier & Hoofcare Resource Center, select the type of association in
which you are interested.
